The Rome Cali for AI Ethics
The Rome Call far AI Ethics (www.romecall.org) is a document conceived and promoted by the Pontifical Academy for Life and subsequently by the RenAissance Foundation, which calls far an ethical approach to artificial intelligence. First promoted on February 28, 2020, the Rome Call has attracted growing interest aver the years. The idea behind the Call is to promote a sense of shared responsibility among international organizations, governments, institutions, universities, and the private sector to create a future in which every individual can benefit from technological advances and in which technological progress ensures respect for the dignity of every individuai and our common home. By investing in a new algorethics, signatories commit to following the principles of the Rome Call in terms of transparency, inclusion, accountability, fairness, reliability, security, and privacy.
The RenAissance Foundation
Established on April 12, 2021, by Pope Francis with public canonical legai status, the RenAissance Foundation is based in Vatican City, at the Pontificai Academy for Life, of which it is an instrumental body. A non-profit foundation, it aims to support anthropological and ethical reflection on new technologies and human life.
